What is the vetting process for Total Guard staff?

Yes. As part of our rigorous recruitment process, following interview, we obtain a previous employer’s reference and our required extensive proof of ID, address and entitlement to work in the UK. We also confirm with the SIA the applicant is fully licensed and trained accordingly to operate, and where required, staff will also have a fresh DBS check to ensure additional peace of mind for our clients.

How do you price your services?

There are a variety of factors that we need to take into account when quoting for a contract. No two clients’ requirements will be the same and we tailor our services accordingly. We would want to conduct a full site survey and gain a thorough understanding of your needs prior to giving you a price. Commercial customers are invoiced per calendar month and are given 30 day terms from invoice date.

How are your staff monitored?

Random and regular site visits will be conducted by senior supervisors to ensure that health and safety is maintained and that we are complying fully with the terms of our contract with you.

What type and level of insurance do you hold?

We have comprehensive insurance cover which, amongst other things, covers Public Liability for £10,000,000 and employer’s liability for £10,000,000. We also have cover for loss of keys.

Do you have high staff turnover?

No. Due to the way in which we train, remunerate and manage our staff, we have very high retention rates. We still have some team members who joined us when the company started in 1988.

Do your staff receive training?

Yes. All managers and supervisors receive comprehensive training to enable them to manage the sites under their supervision in line with Total Guard’s guidelines and required standards. Each of our security personnel receives comprehensive in house and in situ training in all areas required for them to skilfully perform their duties. All Health and Safety issues and key company policies are also covered in their initial training and induction.

Will my keys be secure?

Of course! Keys will be kept in a fireproof safe in a secure place. Each set of keys is assigned a secure code and is documented each time it leaves the safe until it is returned. Keys are also checked on a weekly basis.

What is the contract duration?

Contracts are negotiable according to the project and service agreed to be delivered. Given our confidence in service delivery, none have long extended tie-ins for your peace of mind.

Will your staff wear uniforms?

Where appropriate, depending on the type of work we are undertaking for you, our staff will wear uniforms. Our close protection officers are plain clothed.

Will the changeover to Total Guard be smooth?

Of course. We have nearly 30 years’ group experience in dealing with new contracts and their integration, which allows us to be thorough with planning and client liaison in order to make the changeover a seamless process. We will also deal with all appropriate legislation and TUPE where applicable, so the only difference you will notice is the planned improvement in service and standards.

Can you provide references?

Yes. Once you have received the formal quotation from us and are serious about going ahead, we will be happy to provide you with customer references to help you finalise your decision.

Can we contact you outside of office hours in an emergency?

Yes. Part of your contract will include access to Total Clean’s hotline number so that we can help you with any emergencies that may arise – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
